The world of certificates has changed somewhat over the past few years. The documentation needs to be improved - it currently still references (and links to, and recommends) StartCom. Meanwhile it has no mention of LetsEncrypt, or the best way to integrate that.
The documentation should be updated before we release 0.10 and include information about how to use the new 'cert import' command in prosodyctl.
